Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements 6-inch Crafting Pack - Documentation
Fabulous, industrial-style designs courtesy of Tim Holtz.

Each 6-inch square Fabric Crafting Pack consists of eight (8), six-inch by six-inch square pieces of printed, 100% cotton fabric. Each of the eight squares feature a different design, and the designs coordinate cleverly.

Edges of the squares are neatly cut in a pointed, pinking shear style.

The perfect size for card making or any paper craft project. The six inch square width fits neatly into most die-cutting platforms.

I suggest covering grungepaper with fabric using a glue stick as adhesive, and when dry run through die-cut machine using a steel rule die (the thick ones, not the steel, wafer-thin style).

However, if you are like me and wanting to use a wafer-thin die and this fabulous fabric, you have a couple of choices:

option a) simply iron on a fusible interfacing such as Heat n Bond (available here at StarLitStudio if needed) with that steam iron you never use, because your craft iron gets all your attention...or

option b) place a piece of thick cardstock, like 110 lb weight, on the cut plate, followed by the desired fabric right side up, followed by the wafer-thin die face down, followed by a second cut plate.

Run through die-cut machine twice. Option a gives the die-cut body and a firmness nicely suited to then run the die-cut through a sewing machine or adhere buttons to quickly and easily. Option b is simply a limp piece of die-cut fabric - great for multitudes of layers for flowers, or where gathers are needed.

Depending on the type and age of the die-cut machine, and the intricate nature of the wafer-thin die - one can have varying results. For Memory Box, Poppystamps, Papertrey Ink, Spellbinders dies and so forth - I have tried both option a and b with success for non-intricate dies. (An example of an intricate die would be the Pippi Butterfly die. An example of a non-intricate die would be the Isabella Butterfly die.) Feel free to email me with questions at starlitstudio@gmail.com.

Colors and styles of the fabrics coordinate beautifully with Tim Holtz inks, papers and embellishments.
