Small Slide Top Tin
Product Description
Funky and fun: one (1) mini slide top tin. Size of tin is 1" x 2", and is 3/8" thick, including the lid.
Bright, shiny silver metal; lid slides on and off and can be completely removed; clicks and stays in a closed position. Ideal for housing a mini accordian folded altered book, or series of photos. Lid is perfect for covering with polymer clay creations.
I altered a lid with collaged stamped papers and sealed with a mica tile. I then soldered a silver metal clip in place as a bail and wear it as a pendant (as Tim Holtz did in distressables). I lined the tin base with French script verse. A real conversation starter.
To create a pendant as in distressables, use a silver metal clip or try a spiral clip! Adhere by soldering, or with an adhesive such as Gorilla Glue, E6000, or similar.
Altered book or journal use: Create mini shadowboxes - adhere miniature items (keys, buttons, charms, tiny bottles, various embellishments) using E-6000 or other cement. Use as a central embellishment on the cover of a journal or within an altered book. Create a secret surprise for your journal cover.
